SF4008 - fallback receiver

Hi,

Using SF4008 to get services from other boxes (et10000 ot DM7020HD) gives no sound and some instant frozen pictures, mainly on HD channels.
is there anything wrong ?

Is it an issue appeared on latest drivers?

Yes It could be.
I have a backup from December 24, and it works fine there.

Which files should I keep to have old drivers in up.to-date image ?

You can't change drivers any more.

Due to OE-A changes in kernel, the old drivers are not working in an updated image.


So the best you can do is to get an old build, update all "except kernel / driver related".

One way to do that, is to set flag keep to kernel / drivers.

opkg flag keep "package1"
opkg flag keep "package2"
...

I figured out that some receivers have problems with streaming services (related to astra-sm) the same way you describe. It was also the case with my Vu+ receiver using astra-sm. I could solve it doing this:

In another forum 2 members confirmed that it worked with a Ultimo 4k and a DM820.
Whether this is the problem with your SF4008 or it is really driver related I do not know. But maybe give it a try.

Streaming to SF4008 works perfectly using a OpenEight 6.6 image.
So why doesn't it work on SDG ?

On Open ATV 6.2 and OpenVix 5.2.014 images streaming works fine too…
So, If it Works fine on OpenEight, Openatv and OpenVix, and it doesn't on SDG..... its something image related… isn't it ??
