as far as i know 4:2:2 is forbidden by regulations (but i am not sure). And there are no SDG images for HD51.

I could not figure out big differences between both receivers. Both tuners (SF4008 and HD51) support multistream. So far i did not compare tuner sensibility.

As far as I know SF4008 does DVB-S2X. What about HD51?

Ah, one thing: the Tuner A of SF4008 cannot really deal with the 27,5°W transponders symbol rate: from reception till complete blackout. Tuner A is also known as troublemaker with APSK16 modulation.

I wonder if the issues can be workedaround by setting Tuner B as the preferred one or in some other way?

multistream is optional part of DVB-S2X: both receivers support dvb-s2x.
I configured tuner A without 27,5°W so on these channels the SF4008 switches to tuner B

Are you sure HD51 supports DVB-S2X out-of-the-box? Is this available with a standard tuner from the manufacturer or a separate tuner has to be installed?

i am sure as i possess the HD51 and receive 5°W multistream. When ordering the HD51 you must insist ordering with dvb-s2x tuner.
When it arrived i had to make a firmware update because the delivered "factory-firmware" was pretty old and did not detect the DVB-S2X tuner. Now everything is fine here.
About "out-of-the-box": Multistream needs support from kernel driver and firmware but with actual OpenPli-6 you cannot do wrong.

Unfortunately, Mut@nt HD51 is not available in Poland.
There is something like OPTICUM 4K BOX HD51 or AX 4KBOX HD51, which look almost the same as Mut@nt HD51 (at least the remote and the case are different) but I'm afraid it is not the exact copy and perhaps OpenPLi could not be installed on it.

the users say that both boxes are the same beside of Mutant does not come with PVR (but only a question of firmware), manual of mutant only english, little different remote control...

Those boxes are almost same, but not exactly same.

Nobody has blindscan if I am not mistaken.

Both have Kodi (although 1G memory minus the used by drivers memory leaves only 200-300 usable memory for Kodi)

SF comes with S2X while HD S2X plugganle tuner came latter.

Both support CI(+)

HD supports offline decoding (softcam & CI)

HD supports extend CW API

4:2:2 ??? What's that ???
