Move from OpenPLI to SatDreamGr

Hello all,

This is my first post as I just joined this community. My main reason was to move away from the buggy and uncontroled OpenPLI and move to SatDreamGr which I was told is more stable and serious.

Before I make the move, I would like to be sure that everything I have on my PLI installation will continue to work. I would expect so, but I am worried about the plugins I've been using for a while like FanControl2 and mgcamd. Are they also available from the standard SatDreamGr plugin list/feed?

Anything special I need to do before I move from OpenPLI to SatDreamGr? I suppose a backup, but the backup function is not very clear in OpenPLI. I already have copies of my config files and can push them back by hand after the move if needed, but a fully automated restore would be more convenient, as long as it does not bring bad settings from OpenPLI into my new installation.

Anything else I should worry or be careful about?

FYI, I am using a DM8000

Yes the move is very easy : I've done it months ago. Fancontrol2 and mgcamd are available.
Restoring the settings can also be done.
You will enjoy it, it has some functions not present in OpenPli and it is indeed very stable on my DM8000.

Updated a few minutes go. So far so good...

I just need to get used to the new skin :-)

One question: Since I don't speak Greek, will removing the Greek Streaming and Radio plugins break anything (including future updates)?

No it should not cause any issues.

I ran opkg list-upgradable and see 60 updates. Are they safe or should I wait for the next available image?

There is a newer kernel with nandsim support for ubi enabled machines. We had no problem on dm800se and dm7020hd.

If you are unsure you can always backup image (from Panel+ -> SDGBackup Dreambox Enigma2) before any update, and if your image get's broken then restore a backup.

As people said over OpenPLi forum, we are using the same sources, so it is possible to break things.
