I have reviewed all the files and updated the code to make it compatible with Dreambox devices, as this plugin previously only worked on Open Source images and was not compatible with Dreambox.
Since I was very impressed with this plugin, especially the feature to clear the database table on each update if desired, I also added code to make the plugin appear in the main menu as well as in the Extensions section.
It has been tested on Dreambox and VU+, and works with images using Python 2 and Python 3.

This update was developed and finalized in collaboration with the talented developer Lululla, and it has been successfully tested on Dreambox and VU+ devices. It is fully compatible with Python 2 and Python 3, as well as with various EPG file formats.

Important Note:
You must remove any previous version of the plugin before installing the any new release.

For Gemini images, please avoid installing through gCommander.

To ensure a successful installation, it is recommended to use Telnet command based onr your image.

thanks and appreciation to my friend Lululla for his efforts and help.

The plugin has been tested on Dreambox and VU+ devices, as well as on several images such as Gemini, Merlin, and OpenATV, with both Python 2 and Python 3.
A new source has been added inside the EPG plugin screen, along with some minor code improvements to enhance performance. A screenshot from the Gemini image is also attached.

I would like to remind you once again: any previous version of the plugin must be completely removed before installing the new version.

Here are the removal commands in order to ensure full cleanup of old installations:

opkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport
opkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport
rm -rf /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/EPGImport

for Gemini images, please avoid installing through gCommander.

To ensure a successful installation, it is recommended to use Telnet and install using the following command as shown below

New update for the EPGImport plugin version 2.8

This update includes an important fix for an issue that occurred during the download and extraction of XZ files.
The problem related to downloading and decompressing .xz files has been resolved.
This issue appeared on Dreambox images due to limitations in certain Python 2.7 environments.
The handling mechanism for XZ files has been improved to ensure compatibility and stability during the EPG data import process.
Successfully tested on the following devices: Dream box receiver – Vu+ receiver
The update has been tested and confirmed working on the following images:

OpenATV image
OpenPLI image

Δοκίμασα το πρόσθετο, πριν την βγει η τελευταία του, έκδοση,
αφού πρώτα εγκατέστησα την "2.8" και φάνηκε ότι λειτουργούσε
καλά, αλλά είχα λάβει όμως υπόψη, ότι ο δημιουργός του,
είχε βγάλει την "2.9", εξηγώντας ότι η "2.8" είχε κάποια προβληματα!

Χωρίς ν' ακολουθήσω τις οδηγίες, εγκατέστησα
την "2.9", "πάνω στην "2.8" και εκεί...
άρχισαν τα προβλήματα!

Απεγκατέστησα το πρόσθετο, αφού δεν το αναγνώρισε
ο δέκτης, και το πέρασα ως επιλέγοντας το ".ipk" αρχείο!
Έκανα επανεκκίνηση για να φανεί στο μενού
των προσθέτων, αλλά την πρώτη φορά που πήγε
να ξεκινήσει ο δέκτης, στην οθόνη του, είχε σταματήσει
στο "88"!!!

Τελικά, τον επανεκκίνησα τον δέκτη, από πίσω,
και ενώ είχε ανοίξει, με... γύρισω πίσω στις εποχές
της "πράσινης οθόνης" κι έτσι, αποφάσισα,
να χρησιμοποιήσω το DCC και μέσω FTP,
"μπήκα" στο μενού του δέκτη κι έσβηαα το φάκελο
της επέκτασης!

Τελικό συμπέρασμα:
Μακριά κι αγαπημένοι!!!
Δεν φτάνει που μου δημιούργησε αυτή την μικρή
ιστορία, λίγο έλειψε να ξαναφλασάρω, τον δέκτη!!!

* Εκείνη την ώρα, είχα σκεφτεί κάτι που μου είχε
απαντήσει ένα μέλος της κοινότηταςμ εδώ,
για... ατελείωτες ώρες, ενασχόλησης () !!!

Επίσης, όποτε είχα εγκατατήσει μ' επιτυχία
το πρόσθετο, είχα προσέξει
την "κακιά συνήθειά" της, να μου "σβήνει"
τις πηγές από τον EPG που φορτώνει,
στο GreekStreemTV!!!

Έτσι, ευτυχώς που κρατώ αντίγραφο,
ακόμη καί γι' αυτή την περίπτωση,
όπου το αντέγραψα, στην κατάλληλη θέση
και τελείωσε το ζήτημα!
