AC3 downmix problems

Hi,

I have read on some forums that there is an AC3 downmix issue with Dreamboxes, and that the result of this is that the audio is of poor quality. It sounds like the volume is boosted way above proper levels, and there is a metallic sound to it. If you use only one of the channels, it sounds good again.

I have a DM800SE, and have the latest image and packages (installed and updated it today).

Any tips on how to solve this issue, without getting a new box?

Hi,

Since DMM has abandoned support for those models there is nothing you can do to fix sound.

Maybe a solution is to use the analog/digital output?

I think it's more that OpenPLi has abandoned support for DMM since DMM made some stuff not opensource, not sure if this still is the issue here.

I think it's more that OpenPLi has abandoned support for DMM since DMM made some stuff not opensource, not sure if this still is the issue here.

They are not adding new features on drivers as far as I know.

The best you can do is create a bug report and see what they will answer to you.
