remote update through ssh ?

remote update through ssh ?

Hello,

I have an installed DM 8k which cat /etc/version reports : 201606111828
I tried opkg update && opkg upgrade but that don't find anything news.

Is there a way to upgrade without flashing ?

i suppose that you have installed the "old stable" image, which is "frozen".
you can only flash the latest stable (which is a different build).
unfortunatelly,for technical reasons,dmm receivers can't follow latest experimental images.

Thank you for the answer.
I will then go physically at my friend DM 8k and flash with Satdreamgr-4.0-gst1-dm8000-20170528.nfi.
I saw that openpli released rc for openpli6 for DM 8k.
I don't know what technical reasons prevent experimental images but even if they were available I wouldn't install them on a friend DM.

i just saw that and i am surprised,as they stoped supporting dmm receivers a long time ago. also is strange,that they build software only for dm8000.
about the "technical reasons", it is easy to build images only for dmm, but it is too difficult to build common images for a few receivers,including dmm...
